“Corpus” art exhibit featuring five Cuban artists to open at Ocean Sotheby’s in Islamorada on Friday, February 7th

The Florida Keys Council of the Arts, in conjunction with Ocean Sotheby’s International Realty in Islamorada and Latin American Art Magazine is proud to announce the upcoming show: “Corpus”, an exhibition of five Cuban Artists: Carlos Guzmàn, Jesùs Nodarse, Ernesto Capdevila, Sandra Rodriguez and Emmanuel Dias, whose focus is on the human body. Curated by Alaen Ledesma Fernandez. An opening reception is scheduled for Friday, February 7, from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at Roberto Russell Gallery at Ocean Sotheby’s International Realty, 81888 Overseas Highway in Islamorada.

Join us to enjoy the artwork, also hors d’oeuvres and wine presented by Ocean Sotheby’s. All work on exhibit are original paintings and are available for sale.

Ms. Segel, with her fascination for tools and woodworking, creates assemblages and collages using odd or old objects, wood or parts from damaged antique furniture and other rejected items that she sometimes finds in the streets or at yard sales. All her pieces are generally reworked several times, involving all composition aspects. The reconfiguration and refining process often ends up showing complete changes from the original concept. This constant evolution is evidence of her desire to always test, stretch and expand her abilities. To Segel, personal and professional life challenges have always been tools for self-improvement and her search is constant and endless.
